An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate and Senior Associate to join our clients Construction and Engineering team. However, whilst the role is in the Cardiff office, applicants in the Southampton and London area will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Our clients construction team has a UK wide reputation and acts for clients involved in construction, engineering and energy projects and disputes throughout Wales and the wider UK. It has a tier 1 ranking in all legal directories.

The team advises central and local government, contractors, housing associations, developers, house builders, funders, high street banks and construction professionals. It also works closely with consultants in the construction and engineering sector on both projects and disputes.

Recent work highlights include successfully representing the Welsh Government on its long running dispute with Costain over the 150m A465 and advising on Supply Agreement in relation to Hinkley Power Station. Clients include Cardiff, Swansea and Conwy County Councils, Barratt, Persimmon, and many other leading organisations.

The Role

The Construction and Engineering team is looking for an Associate and Senior Associate to advise mostly (or exclusively should you wish) on non-contentious and project work. You will work closely with the other partners and junior lawyers in the team but will also be given responsibility for running your own matters (with support) dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will ideally be familiar with the standard construction forms (e.g., JCT and NEC) and some of the project documentation that are used in construction and engineering projects. However, candidates with experience of drafting and negotiating commercial or property contracts and who wish to specialise in construction law are encouraged to apply.

  • 3+ years PQE
