PARALEGAL – SPECIALIST PI (OVERSEAS ACCIDENTS)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join the Overseas Accidents Team within our clients Specialist Personal Injury (PI) team.
The Overseas Accidents Team represents clients who have suffered injury outside of the UK while on holiday, working abroad or in the course of international travel. Typically our clients are injured while on package holidays, in foreign road traffic accidents, on cruise liners or on airplanes.
The successful candidate will be working within a busy claimant litigation team assisting existing team members with ongoing cases and new enquiries.
Various duties to include:
- Taking initial calls from potential clients with enquiries as to whether we can take on their claim
- Reviewing medical records and potentially preparing bundles of medical records
- Dealing with telephone enquiries from clients
- Assisting senior lawyers in all procedures, including instructing counsel and issuing and pursing court proceedings
An understanding of the litigation process will be a distinct advantage.
The client base is nationally distributed, therefore the role will involve communication with clients via the telephone and video conferencing. Excellent inter-personal skills are also essential along with a confident telephone manner. A good level of IT literacy is needed, to include MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Accurate keyboard skills are also essential for this post as the successful candidate will be undertaking their own typing.
This role would ideally suit an LPC graduate or similar academic achievement or experience.
